Lena Kirschberger

Lena Kirschberger is a costume and fashion designer from Hamburg who has shown her work not only on stage but also in film and photos. Her focus is on transmitting emotions generated by the narratives in her works.
She completed her bachelor’s degree in Integrated Design with a focus on fashion design at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen. During her studies, she assisted the costume designer Victoria Behr, among others. With her final project, the video clip “MESH”, she won the title “best new talent” at the Copenhagen Fashion Film Festival 2019. The inspiration for her studies came from her training as a men’s tailor. She developed a great passion for the craft and worked in various costume workshops and studios, such as the Thalia Theatre (Hamburg), Vivienne Westwood (London), and Sands Films (London).
Since 2019, she has been completing her Master’s degree in costume design at HAW Hamburg under Reinhardt von der Thannen, among others, and has been designing costumes for dance and theatre, including Helena Bennett’s graduation play “The Hamlet Machine” (Kampnagel Hamburg). In the play, the sculptural elements of the costumes stood out above all.
